Byron Bay photographed from The Pass, one of the best surfing
spots at the Bay. The point break here offers surfers
especially long rides on quality waves. Check out the

Byron Bay's famous lighthouse overlooks the
popular coastal resort on New South Wales' far north coast. The
lighthouse was built in 1901 to warn ships of their proximity to
Australia's most easterly point. A walking track, starting at
Wategoes Beach, leads up the north side of Cape Byron to the
lighthouse. There is road access but parking near the lighthouse is
limited and fees apply. Cape Byron is also a popular whale watching
spot, its height offering great views out to sea and over Byron Bay.
Whales sometimes even come close to the base of the Cape's steep
cliffs. |
